Black Bear Hunting Permit Application Period Opens August 1st
New Preference Point System for Future Drawings

This year the Maryland black bear hunting season will be a split-

season that is scheduled to take place October 22, 2007 through

October 27, 2007 and December 3, 2007 through December 8, 2007.

In order to allow all interested parties an equal opportunity to

participate, 220 permits will be awarded by a random selection

process, which will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007.

 

2007 Maryland Black Bear Hunting Permit Lottery Applications will be

accepted August 1 through 6:00 p.m. on September 1, 2007. To apply, go

to: http://blackbear.dnr.state.md.us/ 

 

You will be required to pay a $15 non-refundable application fee and

are limited to submitting only 1 application. Multiple applications

will result in the rejection of all applications from that

individual.

 

You may also apply by phone at 1-888-579-6768 beginning 9:00 a.m. on

Monday, August 27, 2007, and continuing until 6:00 p.m. on Friday

August 31, 2007. Phone orders will be taken between the hours of 9:00

a.m. and 6:00 p.m. for that five day period only. We hope you agree

that the preference point system is a worthwhile addition to the

application process and will share is this email with your hunting
